Was there a TV show, perhaps in the 1960’s, by this name? If so, who played the father in this show? (Or, am I just confused with “Father Knows Best”?) - Jinx
Danny Thomas. IIRC, it also went out under the name “The Danny Thomas Show”, and the theme song was “Danny Boy”. One of those names is almost certainly the syndication name.
On the show, Danny Thomas basically played Danny Thomas, an entertainer.
Another syndication name it went under was “Make Room for Danny”. But the original was indeed “Make Room for Daddy.”
As I remember, Thomas (Marlo’s father) like Ricky Ricardo was a night club entertainer professionally. In fact an episode of the show served as the pilot of the “Andy Griffith Show”. An interesting side note to that piece of information was that the woman/girl who played Thomas’ oldest daughter later played Andy’s girlfriend.
“Make Room for Daddy” was the series title for the first three years of its original run. It was “The Danny Thomas Show” thereafter (and also “Make Room for Grandaddy” for one year in the early 70s when they attempted, unsuccessfully, to revive it).

Incidentally, Danny Thomas’s character name in the series was Danny Williams.
Well, no. Elinor Donahue was Andy’s girlfriend, but she was the older daughter on “Father Knows Best,” not the Danny Thomas show.
Danny’s older daughter was Terry, played first by Sherry Jackson, and later by Penney Parker.
