Make the music in my head go away!!

The only thing I have in my head is braaaiiiinnnssss… :stuck_out_tongue:

However, one thing I always wanted to try, but for some reason never think to when I am hit with a severe case of head radio, is to just open my mouth and let it hang slack-jawed for a while. The theory being that I actually subvocalize the music I ‘hear’, and letting the mouth hang open might perhaps inhibit this. But as I said, I’ve never had a chance to really test this…

I curse the day I heard “I Wanna Be Like You” by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Someone told me it was from the Disney film The Jungle Book, so I went to youtube and watched/listened as Louis Prima himself rendered it in its original form.

WARNING: DON’T DO THIS YOURSELF IF YOU WANT TO RETAIN YOUR SANITY

I swear that tune was in my head for two solid months. I wanted to smash my head with the stapler at work to drive it out. What works for me is to substitute an insanely catchy jingle by someone like Queen or Michael Jackson, which also may stick for awhile but not as long as a newly-discovered piece.

See what I’m throught/in the middle of

I suppose that SDMB is soundless - you don’t need TVs;)
