making a CD-- need help on country songs

I’m trying to make a CD for my g/f and face the task of mixing songs she likes with songs I like. (Hey you try mixing SheDaisy with Metallica, it ain’t easy!)

Anyway, what I need help with is a few songs I know that she likes that I have no clue about. Plus some song suggestions.

First of all there’s some songs that I know of but don’t know the title or who sings it.

Song 1- I call the amazed by you song. Goes something like… “every little thing that you do… baby I’m amazed by you.”

Song 2- Who sings one boy/one girl

Song 3- Who sings that auction song and whats the title? I don’t really know the words, but from what I’ve heard it sounds like he’s being auctioned off to some chick.

I also need some song suggestions. I have very little knowledge of Country songs. They should probably be fairly popular. I’m hoping to get them off of Napster. I know she likes shedaisy and dixie chicks and general girl groups. The ones above caught my attention as songs that she will turn the radio up on, so that should give you some idea of what she likes.

Thanks in advance!

I am ashamed to actually know a couple of these.

The “One Boy, One Girl” is Collin Raye (sp?). Actually, his is one of the few country albums I own.

The auction song is by John Michael Montgomery, I believe.

As far as recommendations, you can’t go wrong with Shania Twain or Faith Hill. Martina McBride has an incredible voice and is great too.

Does she like Patsy Cline? If so, check out Mandy Barnett. This girl can sing! I have both her albums.

That would be "Amazed’ by Lonestar

Collin Raye sings it.

John Michael Montgomery sings it. “Sold” is the title

[li]just about anything by Faith Hill, “Breathe” is the first that comes to mind.[/li][li]almost anything by Lonestar, especially “Tell Her” “Right About Now” and Everything’s Changed"[/li][li]You already mentioned Shedaisy and The Dixie Chicks[/li][li]Kenny Chesney “I Lost It”[/li][li]Lee Ann Womack "I Hope You Dance "[/li][li]Toby Keith “How Do You Like Me Now?!”[/li][li]Jamie O’Neal “There Is No Arizona”[/li][li]Lee Ann Womack “Ashes By Now”[/li][/ul]
Check out Billboard Hot Country™ Singles & Tracks for what is hot right now. The ones I mentioned are all really popular, though some are a little older.

Find out if she likes Aaron Tipon’s Kiss this (I love this song, it is a woman with attitude song).

There is also a song called Romeo done by Dolly Parton and several others.

Thanks so far… this is great. More suggestions appreciated. By the way meephead… I know that she likes SheDaisy and dixie chicks but I know absolutely nothing by them. So what would be a good song by them?

“Shamless” - Garth Brooks
“T-R-O-U-B-L-E” - Travis Tritt
“Take it Back” - Reba McIntyre (probably spelled her name wrong)
“Goodbye Earl” - Dixie Chicks
“On the Road Again” - Willie Nelson
“Crazy” - Patsy Cline
“She Got the Goldmine, I Got the Shaft” - I don’t know who sings this
“I Will Always Love You” - Dolly Parton

I admire the fact that you are going to the trouble to please her and being open minded about your differing tastes in music. Hmmm…here are a few for starters. Let me know if I can do anything else to help you out.

SheDaisy:
“Little Goodbyes”
“Lucky 4 You (Tonight I’m Just Me)”
“Dancing with Angels”
“I Will, But…”

Dixie Chicks:
“You Were Mine”
“Goodbye Earl”
“Let 'er Rip”
“Wide Open Spaces”
“There’s Your Trouble”
“I Can Love You Better”
“Ready to Run”
“Cowboy Take Me Away”

“Yes” by Chad Brock is a nice, happy song for that sort of thing.

I defy anyone to not like this song: “(You can Sleep) While I Drive” - Trisha Yearwood

Other favorites:

“I Still Believe in You” - Vince Gill

“Dream Chaser” the Judds
