Making a second pot of coffee -- do you reuse the grounds?

Yes, I admit it.

Come to think of it, I always did throw out the old coffee grounds (and filter) and started the new pot with fresh everything. I have no idea why I barged in here, playing Devil’s advocate. I may have been drinking last night.

I switched over to black tea in the morning over three years ago and can’t remember the last time I brewed coffee, except for guests.

“Ribeye” is by definition boneless. You mean a “bone-in rib steak.”

(In for an asshole penny, in for an asshole pound)

I would consider reusing grounds if civilization collapsed and the available supplies of coffee were severely depleted. Sure, it would taste horrible, but bad coffee would be the least of my problems.

I used to. Started doing it in the military, then kept doing it. It makes an OK pot, if you’re not a connoisseur.

I stopped when I was at work long ago, and started to run a new carafe of water through for Round Two. A coworker asked what was doing so I told her. She said “Yeah. We don’t do that here.”

Haven’t done it since.

ETA, can’t grasp all the “gross” comments. I mean yeah, I get it might not be the most tastiestest pot of coffee, but what’s gross about it?

God, no

It is simultaneously weak and acidic. Also if the grounds are 24 hrs old, yuck.

No not 24 hours old. Back to back pots.

For some reason I’m hearing this in Buffalo Bill’s voice.

I dump out the old coffee grounds too unless I’m motivated to add them to the compost heap.
