Malcolm (Wilkerson) in the Middle question

Anyone who watches the show knows that the family’s last name is never mentioned. However, according to the MItM trivia listing on IMDb, the family’s last name is apparently Wilkerson.

When did we find this out, and how? From a script? This has been bugging me for as long as I’ve known the last name…

Cheers, thanks a lot.

A little Googling and I think I’ve answered my own question… runs cowering

From what I can tell, early articles about the show when it premiered in February of 2000 mention “the Wilkerson family.”

I think that they mentioned it in one of the first 2 or 3 episodes, too.

Ah, must have missed those.

Am I the only one who found the sequence with Bea Arthur and Dewey doing interpretive dance to “Fernando” absolutely brilliant?

Or maybe it was because I was stoned at the time…

I think Bea was nominated for an Emmy as Best Guest Starring Role for that episode.
It was very good - although it sounds like you got more of a “kick” out of that episode than I did.
(I know, “I’m not the boss of you now, I’m not the boss of you now…”)

Before you criticize, walk a mile in the other’s shoes.
Then you’re a mile away and you have their shoes.

Yes, she was indeed nominated for said award.

And yes, I got a kick out of it… and what was on next? The X-Files where Scully finds the spaceship on the beach. Trippy!
