Mamas and Papas "false chorus start" mocked in "Darlin' Be Home Soon"?

According to wikipedia’s article on The Mamas and the Papas:

Here’s the Woodstock performance of Darlin’ Be Home Soon, and here are the lyrics.

I can’t figure out where the “mock” takes place?

I assume it’s that last verse:

I see that he doesn’t do that in the live performances, though.

I don’t get it either and I’ve never heard anybody ever say this. It doesn’t make sense.

Nor is it sourced in Wiki. The next line, Paul McCartney, however, was impressed by the way the group came in too soon on the recording. “That has to be a mistake: nobody’s that clever,” he told the group., has a cite but it is subtly different than in the original. “Paul McCartney was intrigued by the way the group came in too early on its final chorus and yet it was left on the record. “That has to be a mistake: nobody’s that clever,” he told them.”

That whole entry has terrible writing. They deserve better.
