Man convicted in 1967 rape and murder case

Not sure where to put this, but this is quite the solve of a quite cold case.

A jury at Bristol crown court found Ryland Headley, then aged 34, guilty of attacking 75-year-old Louisa Dunne in June 1967.

Wow, the victim would have been 133 now if it was possible to live that long.

Both good police work and luck. I know from personal experience that in many cases it’s impossible to get usable DNA off of old evidence. Especially evidence collected before DNA collection was a thing.

He’s been sentenced to life in prison !
