Wrestling camp at Boston University had us staying in one of the three dorms surrounding the astro turf athletic field. Despite the dorms having 15+ floors, normal traffic usage must not have needed more than three elevators. Of course, this didn’t work so well when all the wrestlers ended practice sessions at the same time and tried to get back up to their rooms.
After having elevators get stuck a couple feet below floors because of being over capacity, I generally decided that the 15 floor hike was shorter. I guess I was there for exercise anyway, right?
What?? Did you SEE the length of the original article? That was not a page or two out of it in the least. The article was HUGE, and I only took the pieces that were about the guy mentioned in the OP, which was not, by the way, the crux of the article itself, but a side story within the story.
You don’t get to change the definition of “brief” based on the relative length of the source material. Otherwise it’d be perfectly kosher for me to publish my own edition of Volume 14 of the Encyclopedia Britannica, since it only represents but a small excerpt of the entire work.
