man utd V arsenal: what happens to Kolo Toure now ?

In the game between Man Utd and Arsenal on Sunday, Wayne Rooney rounded the keeper, shot at goal but had his shot saved (hand ball) by Kolo Toure. Toure was on the floor prior to the shot and dived to save the shot. The incident was not noticed by the referee and there was no booking or penalty.

My question is: will the FA charge Toure because of his actions (a deliberate hand ball, to prevent a goal)?

I am a neutral in this game, and in my opinion some action should be taken. Its not uncommon for the FA to charge a player over a spitting incident, or an inappropriate act to the opposition supporters.

I remeber a few weeks back Gary Neville was charged or was tried by the FA becuase of the way he celebrate a goal infront of liverpool fans, the ref didnt see this either, but it was all over the news and the analysis programs so the FA had to do something. This recent incident was talked about on the analysis but no one mentioned an FA charge.

What do you think?

I’d think it’s highly doubtful that the FA will do something that makes the refs look bad. Also, on that goal, although it meets the technical definition of deliberate handball, it also looks like he’s diving to try and stop the ball and his arms just got out in front of him/his body didn’t get to the ball in time. So if the referee sees it then it’s a spot kick but since he didn’t, it’s just another missed call. Plus, in the end ManU won, so it’s not as if it cost them anything directly.
