What exactly is Manganese used for? It is the sixth most abundant metal in the earth, so it must be used for something.
It’s used in some steel alloys. If I recall correctly, a magnanese/molybdenum alloy was considered a premium steel for bicycle frames.
I believe Eveready batteries are based on a powdered manganese compound in its dry cell formula.
