Psychopath. I mean, his family is almost as bad as he is, but I can’t think of a single person I know who doesn’t have a close friend or a family member they rely on for emotional support in times of trouble.
They didn’t fight with anyone who said they were too busy or felt bias, just told them to close the door on the way out. I’m sure that saved a LOT of time.

Good point. I’ve proofread enough jury selection transcripts to know that often judges will press prospective jurors on such jury-duty-avoidance claims and be fairly stringent on what arguments will be accepted.

I wonder if Trump’s lawyers tried to get family to come to the trial. It seems to me that having family present is seen as something jurors want to see.
Also, on a more practical note, it might be really awkward for one of his attorneys to hand him a bottle of Gas-X and instruct him to take it. Much easier for a family member to do it.
I think his issue with bodily smells has a more solid origin. What they need to do is have his lawyers pinch their nostrils to signal the judge to grant a diaper change recess.

One of the things that came out in the Mar-a-Lago raid is that Trump and Melania have separate bedrooms, and I’m not sure that they (the bedrooms) are even particularly close. One is an unprincipled psychopath and the other is an unprincipled gold-digger. I doubt that Trump has been emotionally close to anyone in his life.

Normally, the stand by your man look is good in court. But these jurors do not like Donald Trump, and I doubt they have a good opinion of any Trump family member. If they acquit, It will be by ignoring their feelings about Trumpworld, so why remind them of the rest of the Trump crew? Maybe Trump’s lawyers told them to all stay away.
I don’t know how you can separate “TrumpWorld” from Trump himself though. He is the black hole at the center of that galaxy.
