Seems like only yesterday that Teo was a possible Heisman Trophy winner and a likely #1 overall draft pick.
Between the shellacking Notre Dame took from Alabama and the current mini-scandal, Teo is both a national joke AND has plummeted on every draft board. He may no longer be a first rounder, let alone #1 overall.
Could he possibly have fallen any farther any faster?
I don’t really follow the pre-draft news, but #1 really? I thought I heard his rep was falling before that. The word was the NFL does not think he is fast enough to drop back into coverage on obvious passing downs therefore he wasn’t going that high. The NFL doesn’t can about bowl games or trophies. They care about numbers. . Set me straight if I heard wrong.

He was never a likely #1 overall pick. There was speculation he could go high in the first round, but Alabama destroyed that.

Mel Kiper had Teo pegged as #1 overall. You wanna argue that Mel is an ignoramus and that pro scouts never rated him so high, have at it.

Mel had Teo at 8 overall to the Bills before and after the fake dead girlfriend stuff came out.
From looking briefly at a few sites the picture I get is that he is thought of as a safe bet in that he can probably start as a rookie but he probably won’t get much better or become a superstar.
Te’o is now Number 2 in the Forbes Most Disliked athletes list. A bit harsh, no? He basically got swindled for his heart. Why the hate?

I was shocked not to see Ray Lewis on the list. Roger Clemens couldn’t be too far into the teens.
I think that it’s cool that he has a fake, dead girlfriend. Fake-dead (FD) people, even in this day and age, are the subject of lot of prejudice and it’s wrong to judge someone just because they choose to go out with a FD person.
