Maori Fossil Footprints On Auckland Volcanic Island

How cool is that? The footprints, left by a man, a child and a dog, were imprinted on the soft ash of Motutapu after Rangitoto - which sits right out in the middle of the harbour - erupted about 650 years ago. Verily, I am sore amazed: what a great picture.

And I live a few minutes from that island! I may just have to haul myself to the museum to check out the footprints.
