March of the Rantoneers (March mini-rants)

:man_facepalming:

I told my psychiatrist that the latest med we tried for my ADHD was also giving me problems sleeping. Knowing I have diagnosed sleep apnea and use a bipap, he said he thought the trouble was sleep apnea not a side effect of the medication. I am now considering a new psychiatrist.

They are so hard to find. Good luck getting what you need though.

I’m feeling worse today. I had an important meeting today and I used all my energy making that go well and now I have an hour left of work that I cannot do work through. My psychiatrist said that it was good that I am still able to work even though I was depressed. I don’t know how I feel about that. I just don’t view it as a choice. I’m going to go to work until I literally physically can’t anymore.

I did so. I love my dogs but they need planning if they are going to join me for a weekend. I need walls/fences, permission from the owner of the place I stay at, supply of food, safety of local small animals… the list goes on

My current “home” is a tiny bachelor flat in a small town three hours drive away from where the children live, and I cannot have the dogs there, it is unfenced and there are cats around.

I would love my kids (and dogs) to stay with me but I am paying an extraordinary amount of money towards lawyers, various expenses, some unofficial child support (divorce not yet settled) so I live far away, but as cheaply as possible.

So why did you agree to this visit? Oh, maybe you didn’t and your rant is about being asked.

Our apt. complex, in their infinite wisdom, recently replaced old-fashioned metal keys with keypads for all the door locks…

Been meaning to check, and yep you can discern the fingerprints on the keypads. I just scrubbed them off with a paper towel soaked in alcohol. A crook doesn’t have to try that many to crack them, esp. if the number of digits used is less than 6 in each code PIN. If there is a lockout after say 5 attempts, they can try again the next night, until the finally stumble on it.

I’ll be gone in 2-3 months, can’t f. wait…

Do you mean she’s actually killed seven cats? If so, why do you still have this animal?

She has killed seven cats. Fortunately (for me) apparently strays, as, after every victim I have put up signs around my neighborhood with a description and my phone number etc, and informed the local vet.

I still have her because she is in every other way, a great dog. What do you suggest I do with her?

She also kills rats. She’s a hunting dog.

It’s not the killing of cats that is concerning, it’s the taunting letters mailed to the police after each one.

And lest I offend cat lovers, I own a large water pistol/rifle loaded with water mixed with citronella oil, which I use to discourage cats from coming into my garden.

I like cats. I had a cat for 17 years. He was an arsehole. But I loved him. The two dogs grew up with him, and they were wary of his temper and his claws. They had mutual respect.

We have recently discovered that a fox has adopted our yard. What does that mean?
All the rabbits that I used to wave and say hi to in the morning are dead and digested. All of the grey squirrels who used to chase each other and run across our lawn are dead and digested.

Half of the song-birds who used to wake me up at sunrise seem to be gone now.

And now that fox will move on and destroy half of someone else’s neighborhood.

TL,DR- Foxes are Assholes.

I see this guy on the bus, hes easy to talk to. He had wanted to date me.
I texted him, telling him about God and salvation( which upset him so much) that he told me to shut up or he’ll tell people around the neighborhood I paid him to have sex with me. Wiccans are so lovely…

And that’s one heck of a broad brush. I know some wonderful Wiccans. But like any group, some are jerks.

Some people really don’t appreciate being proselytized to. It’s a good way to piss people off. You knew he was a Wiccan, but tried to convert him?

Its a good thing to tell people the good news. Not exactly offensive. He already knew I’m christian…yeah, no offense to Wiccans, this guy is just a jerk.

No, it really isn’t. He may be a jerk, but you’re imposing your beliefs on someone else. Belief is not truth. Your truth is not someone else’s.

Are you saying people shouldn’t witness to others, or be allowed to?
We are told to do so in the bible.
He had an overreaction, it was almost threatening.

There are different ways to witness. IMHO, the best is just to live the example.

True. But telling someone that God has made your life better shouldn’t provoke such a reaction. Which is why I ranted, he was being a jerkhe could’ve said we are not discussing this anymore, or blocked me.
