Margery Kempe goes to MLA at Geoff Chaucer's blog

Mostly of interest to medievalists and English students:
I thought Chaucer’s discussion of Kalamazoo in May was brilliant, but Kempe’s January 5 guest entry on his blog is sheer wonder. I pee myself.

“And thos of the universitee scholde knowe that thys short tretys counteth as a publicacioun towardes tenure for it was blinde-peer-reviewede by II hooly eremites. Worschepyd be God. Amen.”

Well, if Margery can get a job, that kind of gives me hope. Or maybe it doesn’t. I’m not entirely sure.

Listen, I know this place that has a private room where people come to you for advice, and if you show up with a hazelnut, they’ll hire ya! :stuck_out_tongue:
