Maria Christansen - Google engineer who removed the need for Gmail passwords

I recently was watching a video on Computerphile’s channel, I think, about an incident several years ago where a Google engineer named Maria Christansen uploaded code that bypassed password requirements for GMail. She then sent an email out containing some sort of manifesto and subsequently was arrested at the airport.

I wanted to read more about this, but upon searching for it (on Google, Bing and Yahoo), the only reference I could find was to the original video. Is my googlefu weak or is this story made up or what?

Thanks,
Rob
