It seems MAGA isn’t really about making America great or solving real problems, it’s about targeting and going after any “others” they have greviences against. They wouldn’t have much of a purpose without their targets to focus on, so some group will anyways be a target. I think some German pastor once wrote a poem about something similar.
More on topic, a retired Marine friend told me that the Marines are not allowed to act as law enforcement domestically. We’ll see.
Technically, if they are protesting “In the streets” that may be illegal in itself- if traffic is impeded, no permits have been pulled, private property is being tresspassed, other local ordinances are being violated…etc

At least some of the people following Trump are doing so because they want safety. But there is no safety there.

It seems you may have hit upon a major underlying issue driving this whole conflict: California in general and LA in particulars seems to have a remarkably paucity of Felon-ONE properties. Expect this to be addressed in the not so distant future.

It’s not even THAT, it’s Americans who don’t want those folks to be mistreated by our government.
It should be noted that the entire reason we have an undocumented immigration ‘crisis’ is because of decades of abject and often deliberate neglect (and by both parties) of Congress to reform immigration law and make it easier for people to apply for legitimate work status to do the jobs they are doing anyway (and that most natural born American citizens would never lower themselves to doing). This is a manufactured problem that shouldn’t even exist, at least in the degree to that it does now, and the capricious and vengeful employment of what has become an accepted status quo just to stir up fear and unrest on the nearly non-existent threat of immigrant violence is just another of a multitude of ways of encouraging Americans to relinquish civil liberties that most don’t seem to give much of a fuck about to begin with.
Of course, for the likes of Stephen Miller and Steve Bannon, the problem is non-white people existing within the United States at all. ‘Illegal’ immigrants are just the beginning of a process to condition Americans to reject all ‘immigrants’ even if they have been born on American soil or have generational history of citizenship.

Pretty sure we are past the “beginnings” stage. From what I read, ICE has already begun.
They’ve only been chewing on legitimate non-citizen residents and the occasional “self-deportation” of actual citizens on the margins. The large scale ‘removal’ of people who are in full compliance with immigration law and regulations hasn’t started yet, and the camel of deporting people who have Constitutionally-recognized birthright citizenship has yet to thread that narrow eye of the judicial needle but I’m sure Clarance Thomas and/or Samuel Alito already have an opinion drafted to rationalize it.

I too wonder why LAPD is not aggressively containing the violence (and the violent rioters are not protesting ICE but are using this opportunity to rob local businesses (including dispensaries!!) and cause mayhem). One local radio station reported that Karen Bass instructed LAPD against taking action against the rioters but I have no idea if that is true.
