Brynda and I are looking into all the details we need to work on for our forthcoming marriage. One important detail is the marriage license. I have searched OL, but I cannot find a site which tells me where we have to go to get one or who we need to speak to. I have found several sites which state different costs and waiting times.
If anyone has the straight dope or knows and official site where I can look, I would be grateful.

The county offices are at the north end of Telegraph Rd.
Take Woodward to Square Lake, go West to Telegraph, then North past the Mall (on the left).
Just north of the Mall are the county offices, on both sides of the road. (The address is Telegraph, but you need to exit Right onto County Center Drive in order to get into a parking lot. I’m pretty sure that the Clerk is in one of the high office buildings on the East side of Telegraph. If not, turn Left onto Pontiac Lake Rd and then Right onto Summit to get to the parking for the older red-brick office buildings on the West side of Telegraph.)

Thanks tomndebb. I’m going to call them today to see when I can go down and speak to them, so I will try and find out what side of the road they are on and where to park.

I always find tasks like this so deflating. You know, I go in there thinking “I AM GETTING MARRIED! MOMENTOUS EVENT IN MY LIFE!” but to them, you’re just one of hundreds of couples completing paperwork this season.
Same thing with going to the social security office to get a number for my son. “A new life! I new human on earth! I increased the U.S. population by one! He’s a miracle! Call the president!”
Yeah yeah, here’s his number, his card will be there in a few weeks. NEXT!
