Close, Hong Kong actually. Where one looks up only to see buildings rising over a layer of smog and chemicals expelled from pollutants. If we’re lucky, we can see perhaps one star… and that would be the sun. 
Mars Day. Cool.
Just took some photos of mars last night. Used a digital camera with my 8" dob and a 4mm ortho ep. The polar ice cap was very visible. Good fun.

starman, could you give some details of how you hooked up your digital camera to your scope? Exposure time, apeture, etc? thanks

Where I am at the local science center is having a party - with the big telescope trained in the right direction and everything. The cherubs and I are already signed up to go.
