Nor as a shoe salesman or even a phone sex operator.
I enjoy her cooking show. She’s not a bad home cook.
I’ve said this before I think, but I was all prepared to hate Martha Stewart from what I had heard and read about her but when I watched her show, I found her quite charming and sensible. I think I heard her on NPR — Fresh Air, maybe?—and she was great, funny, even a little sexy and she’s probably in her 70s. No doubt she’s had a privileged life, but she has accomplished a lot.
I always thought she was very good on the Letterman show—good-naturedly bantering with him and playing along with whatever he came up with, while keeping a straight face.
I recall one episode where she claimed that Dave had sent her a letter containing a marriage proposal. It was obviously a bit they had come up with that afternoon, but her delivery and timing was flawless.
Martha Stewart made her money as a stockbroker … cooking shows were just a hobby to her when she started …
She can actually cook … which more than can be said of Rachel Ray … just saying …
I understand that she was also a successful caterer, no? And fashion model.
I’m sure Snoop also gave her some of that good stuff to help her chill out.
I like her current baking show. It helps me remember to always use the best butter (like the dormouse) and the best vanilla extract. And to have my own chickens so I can have big beautiful fresh eggs.
Snootiness aside, she does make some pretty dramatic baked goods look easy to do.
Did she really befriend Snoop Dog? That’s an unlikely pairing if ever I’ve heard one.
That wasn’t a joke. They have been close friends for the better part of a decade now and even done some cooking shows and other types of shows together together. They freely admit that they get into “the good stuff” sometimes too.
"August 2016: It’s announced that the dynamic duo will be headlining a show for VH1, called Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party. Each week, they will host celebrity friends for a “half-baked evening of cocktails, cooking, conversation, and fun where nothing is off limits.”
September 2016: In an interview with Rolling Stone, Snoop gives a little bit of insight into their unique relationship. “I’ve never met anyone like Martha Stewart,” he said. “When we come together, it’s a natural combination of love, peace, and harmony.”
Wow. That makes me feel a little better about the world.
