Martial Law in Today's America - daily report

“Inadvertently”?

Thank you, “inadvertent” person. Hope they don’t catch you.

And thanks for posting, Monty.

Kind of reminds you of the Pentagon Papers, doesn’t it?

And I honestly and truly wish there was no occasion, for cause of this thread to even be here, but, alas, it’s needed. Desperately.

Should this thread be morphed into “American Cities Under Martial Law” now that Chicago, Memphis, and probably Boston will be seeing troops invading soon? With other blue cities down the road?

I’d have to say not until such deployments actually happen. The felon got away with it in DC (which I am now calling Washington, Dictatorship of Columbia) because he’s in charge of eh DC National Guard. If he does dispatch NG troops to other cities and the SCOTUS upholds that, I’ll request such a change to the thread title.

Fair enough, and I hope (without much hope) that no thread title changes will be required.

My hope is the current SCOTUS will finally have an epiphany regarding the felon’s current war on Aemrica and its constitution. In my dream, it will dawn on them that their permission to him to violate our constitution will also include an actual physical attack on them by the dictatorship they’ve been enabling and abetting. And, then, finally, they will take the appropriate action.

[sigh]

I doubt the ideologues on SCOTUS will realize their personal danger until their backs are to the wall and they’ve been offered the obligatory cigarette.

Yep. I actually did consider typing pipe dream instead of just dream.

TACO’s next battle in the Second Civil War is not going to be Chicago.

NEW YORK (AP) — President Donald Trump said Friday he’ll send the National Guard to Memphis to address crime concerns there with the support of the mayor and the governor.

Trump, a Republican, said on Fox News “the mayor is happy” and “the governor is happy” about the pending deployment. The mayor is a Democrat, and the governor is a Republican.

He said the city is “deeply troubled” and “we’re going to fix that just like we did Washington,” where he’s sent National Guard and surged federal law enforcement.

Since sending the National Guard to Los Angeles and Washington, Trump has openly mused about sending troops to some of the nation’s most Democratic cities — including Chicago and Baltimore — claiming they are needed to crack down on crime.

And he even admitted he’s chickening out!

Trump said he “would have preferred going to Chicago,” where local politicians have fiercely resisted his plans, but he suggested it was a “hostile” place with “professional agitators.”

As usual, Trump is lying. Our mayor is not happy but knows he has no power over this since the governor is doing cartwheels to kiss Trump’s ass. I’ll have more to say about it if it actually happens.

Good turn of phrase, @Monty, and I agree with it. When there’s threatened resistance, Trump backs down. When the Chicago mayor and Illinois governor don’t want Trump’s military, and Chicagoans oppose Trump’s military (and I guess that for now, we won’t find out how exactly, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be pretty), and it’s a “hostile place” with “professional agitators,” it’s far easier to back down and go after the low-hanging fruit: Memphis.

I have relatives in Bartlett, TN. I wonder how they’re going to enjoy it when this happens just up the road from them.

I might even mention that one of my current mantras is the following:

This is what you wanted for others.

This what you voted for others.

This is what you got for yourself.

The felon’s going to declare a national emergency for Washington, Dictatorship of Columbia.

President Trump has threatened to declare a national emergency in Washington, D.C., to ensure his controversial crime crackdown survives.

He railed against Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser’s decision to end the cooperation between the district’s police force and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers he sent in.

Didn’t the felon say he obliterated all crime in the dictatorship? Why, then, does he need to declare a national emergency for such a peaceful law-abiding locality?

Anway, there’s much more at the article. I can’t bring myself to quote the felon’s gibberish, mostly because it’s gibberish but also because what is understandable is bullshit.

There is a new hero in Washington, Dictatorship of Columbia.

The hero should mix it up some and play anthems from other totalitarian countries besides the USA.

It is not quite as recognisable, but Shostakovich’s symphony number 7 seems appropriate.

(It was written during the Siege of Leningrad. Shostakovich was in the city)

On a lighter note, “The Cuckoo Song / Dance of the Cuckoos” (better known as the Laurel and Hardy theme).

The felon’s war on America shall continue. (The bolding is mine.)

I’m fairly certain he called it the Department of War because that sounds just so much cooler when you’re violating the constitution.

The rest of the article lays out his playbook for this. Do you remember that song with the refrain *Next verse same as the first"? Yeah, that’s the playbook.

Looks like it showed up in a Herman’s Hermits song, but I remember it as “Third verse, same as the first” in a Violent Femmes song.

Second verse, same as the first.

He’s Henery the Eighth, he is.
