Martin Sheen and Mrs. Landingham

In the TV show “The West Wing”, the President (Martin Sheen) has a secretary Mrs. Landingham, played by Kathryn Joosten.

In the movie “The American President”, Sheen is AJ MacInerney, aide to the president (Michael Douglas). Before one meeting, he asks an unshown secretary Mrs. Landingham for something.

Does the name Landingham have some significance to Sheen?

Probably not to Sheen, but Aaron Sorkin wrote the script for THE AMERICAN PRESIDENT and created THE WEST WING. It’s most likely his doing.
