Marvel's Agents of SHIELD

It’s just that we’ve never heard Jemma use that expression before, and by shocking coincidence, the first time she uses the expression (before us, the audience) is after the time travelling character quotes it? The whole thing is already pretty contrived, but this makes it even more so. It’s like Deke saying “I heard my grandmother really like something called ‘Froot Loops’,” followed by a scene of Jemma in the pantry looking for a snack and saying “Oh, good, Froot Loops. I love these and I always have. I’ve just never mentioned it before, for some reason.”

It’s the kind of thing one might expect on an episode of Futurama.

The bit with the wedding ring was clumsy (and gave away the twist immediately). I think I would have liked it better if they’d been more subtle about the ring (Deke: “It reminds me of a ring my mom had. I dunno where she got it.”) and left the twist for the end of the episode when the bad guys note that Deke is genetically related to both Fitz and Simmons.

The show could redeem itself, I figure, if they have an extra twist in store where Deke isn’t just a Fitzsimmons grandson, but also a Fitzsimmons grandparent! Hey, once time travel’s in the mix, all bets are off.

I never thought he was Kree. He was just working for Ronan. Much like Nebula, Gamora, and the Sakaarans.

Every time I try to convince myself that I’m not weird, I read something like this. If this is how normal people consume entertainment, I must be weird: I never think about stuff like this when I’m watching TV, like, ever.

Zeek heard her say it to yoyo a couple episodes back, that’s what made him start making connections to Gramma and Pawpaw Simmonsfitz in the first place.

I’ll tell it to 40+ years of Marvel Comics, thankyouverymuch.

It’s Deke, and it was this episode, after we hear the specter of Deke’s mother say it first.

Some Kree are rainbow-colored.
They call them Kree-ative.

:smack::smack::smack::smack:

I have been trying to remember when Fitz (and Simmons) were stuck on the bottom of the Ocean. He’s been a “Damaged” version of himself since then. That has been a really long time now hasn’t it? I’m not saying the experience is what created his dark side that we saw here. I am just saying the Sunny, Fun guy from the pilot has been gone a long long time hasn’t he?

It was final episode of the first season, when they were fighting Grant, Garrett, & Hydra.

ETA: The 2nd season opener was when we first saw him talking to mind-Jemma. I think it was revealed she wasn’t really there at the end of the episode.

He’s “Korath the Pursuer.” In the movie-verse I don’t think we’ve seen any Kree who weren’t blue, but he has a title like Ronan does so I’d assume he is supposed to be a kind of Kree.

…Cool story… is this show based on the comics or…?

According to this wiki he is Kree.

Well, he’s supposed to be in Captain Marvel along with Ronan and

PHIL COULSON!

so maybe it will clarify that.

I heard he was dead.

Not hardly.

It’s set in the 90’s.

Was it confirmed the entire movie is or just a part?

The summary from Wikipedia:

I’m guessing the end of the movie will jump forward the present day, like the first Captain America.

Nah…just vacationing in Tahiti.

It’s a magical… never mind.
