Massive Attack Seattle 4-26

did anyone else catch this show? catch them on another date?

I thought I was a fan until tonight, they are touring in support of a greatest hits album.
they were 5 or 6 songs into the show before I heard one I recognised, most of the show was obscure or lame or both at once,of the few songs they did that were among their best only “Unfinished Symphony” was done well, the girl they got to do “Teardrop” was pathetic. and listening to Tricky and the other guy talk over music while anti war crap was scrawled across a display behind them was irritating as hell.

not to mention the dual drum sets complete with dual drummers…what the heck there was hardly enough work for one drummer let alone 2? was it a Keith Moon kinda deal? is the original drummer going deaf?
ug the show was not worth 50$ and could have been held in a club instead of the paramount.

someone tell me I am just being a picky basterd here, I really went in expecting to be amazed.

I saw them in a club a fair while ago. They were no better with no drummers.

As much as I’ve enjoyed some of their recordings, I’d never imagine that they would give a good live show. I don’t see much of their stuff translating well to that kind of venue.

I’ve never seen Massive Attack live and I don’t think I would now. Is Tricky back with them now? Portishead seems like a more fun show, especially given the quality of their live CD from Roseland, NYC.

If you want to check out a band like that who does live shows right, my suggestion is to beg, borrow, and steal to see Theivery Corporation live. Un-freakin-believable.

I caught Thievery Corp when they came through town a few months ago, and I agree 100%

the show was amazing, (that brazillian singer was HAWT!) and very well done.
