I had this book when I was a kid. I went looking for it online, and can only find copies for around 20 bucks. This is a book from the early 80’s.
Think 20 bucks is the best price I’m going to find? (Is this book becoming particularly collectible?) Or should I be able to pick it up for a buck somewhere?
It was a great book. It taught me the patterns to use to beat the game–and how to play the psychological game when competing against others! (Not that the lessons took, or even that I really had an opportunity to try them out.) It wasn’t simple step-by-step stuff, either. It unfolded in kind of a narrative style–the author relating stories about “pro” pac-man players he had met over the years (months?). It read kind of like current-day guides to, like, Hold’em Poker, rather than current-day guides to video games.
