Match Game anyone?

That is a fine, fine answer, and one of the ones I was expecting to see when I read the clue.

I confess that I think my answer, had I been playing, would have been American.
Now, let’s see what our panelists have for you:

HardlySanguine: exotic beauty

MeanOldLady: inner beauty

antonio107: Black Beauty, so there’s a match!

Skammer: Sleeping Beauty

etv78: natural beauty

Dr. Girlfriend: Sleeping Beauty

So, that is 1 match, which – due entirely to my poor recollection of the rules of this part of the game (curse my television-enfeebled mind!), means that game 1 ends with the score

MadTheSwine - 1
cmkeller - 3

Congratulations to cmkeller, champion of our first shake-down game!

Back after these messages for you …

Aww, I was looking forward to doing another round myself. Not that I mind winning.

BTW, I’m extremely surprised that none of the panelists chose “American.” Another answer I was surprised not to see was “Bathing.”

After Black Beauty, my next guess would have been “Sleeping.” “American Beauty” had never occurred to me, though I was sleeping through that beautifully…

Price is Right losing Horn.

I hear you, cmkeller, but hey! as champion: you get first dibs at choosing to return as a contestant again.
I think the shake-down game went well, and we got a lot of bugs (mostly introduced by me) worked out.

I’d like to hear back now from all 8 participants in game 1 to know if anybody is interested in leaving the game, and more importantly, who wishes to remain a panelist.

Our champion is allowed to choose to remain a contestant, but that’s not a requirement. If you’d rather switch to panelist, just let me know.

No PMs necessary.

I’m still good! And KneadToKnow, if you feel like hopping in on game three, I’m also willing to emcee one of these. I think I got some good ideas!

I’ll stay on as a panelist (or contestant if needed).

Actually, that may come into play, as I’m heading to Dragon*Con this weekend and would love to lighten my load a little. Who knows, we might be up to game 4 or 5 by then, but I’d be happy to switch and play panelist for a game or two. Thanks for the offer!

Also, in case anyone mentioned it upthread, in addition to the bugs we’ve identified (and plan to eliminate) in game 1, in game 2, the questions will change to the more familiar “short story” type used in the actual show. I’m already working on some. Please don’t be mad if the first four questions aren’t all Greatest Hits characters (Dumb Dora, Dumb Donald, etc.) I’m trying hard to make sure I don’t reuse actual questions from the show, and those fall into such a predictable pattern, that I fear I would accidentally duplicate some if I go to that well too often.

Also, if Tarzan does show up, I will be trying assiduously to make sure that the answer is not “loin cloth.”
Oh, and one last thing: if you’ve already gotten tired with your “celebrity” location assignment, let me know about that too.

I will stay on

Likewise.

ETA: Congrats, cmkeller

Glad to hear it! (I hate that someone had to lose. And that I can’t even offer consolation prizes.)

I’d love to return as a contestant again.

Richard Dawson will stay on the panel.

At the rate we’re going, game 2 will just be a re-match.

ETA: what I did there, do you see it?

Yes, I DID see what you did there!

Intro!
More?
MORE!

Oop, are you waiting on me? I will play again!

One more participant to hear from, and then we can get started with game 2.

All right! We are ready to go with game 2!!!

As it happens, everyone is happy with their current roll, so game 2 will, in fact, be a re-match  of game 1, with the only difference being that we now have a champion/challenger flavor to the contestants. Mmmmmmmmmm, flavor.

GAME 2 BEGINS!
MadTheSwine is now our challenger, this is his question:
Al said, “I think my mother-in-law is getting senile. Every time she sees me kiss my wife, she asks if I’m planning to _______ her.”
Panelists, please PM me now with your responses.

Ok.Waiting…

Just a couple of panelists remain uncommitted . . .
