I’ll be the host. I’ll need two contestants and 6 for the panel. If this works, we can rotate folks around.
Game play:
For round 1, I will post a statement in the form “Straight _______.” The panel members will PM me with their answers. When all panel member answers are in, I’ll post to the thread for contestant A to reply. Contestant A will reply to the thread. I will then ask the panel to post their answers. Score will be tallied.
Repeat for contestant B.
Then repeat for both for round 2.
The winner after round 2 wins.
Anybody interested?
Hmmm. Maybe 5:01 p.m. was bad timing.
Cool. Six more gets us going.
I suppose if only 5 more show up, I could do the lugubrious late-90s version.
I’ll play. The answer is “Boobs,” right? It always is!
I loved Match Game on TV. I’m in.
Excellent. We’re 3/4 of the way to our goal!
I’m in, but only if I get to be Charles Nelson Reilly!
Then I’m Brett and/or Betty White. Or I’ll get to be the Bimbo they always put farthest to the left on the bottom row. Or Richard Dawson. Okay, I’ll be anyone.
Fantastic! We have a quorum.
To be fair to all, I’m now randomly selecting two names to be contestants. Back in a flash.
Alright, for game one, our contestants are:
MadTheSwine
vs.
cmkeller
GAME ONE BEGINS!
HardlySanguine, MeanOldLady, antonio107, astorian, Dr. Girlfriend, and etv78: please PM me your responses to this:
University ______________.
When I have received PMs from all 6 panelists, I will prompt for posts from our 2 contestants.
Bah, that’s what I get for doing this at work. Not from “our 2 contestants”: this is your question for round 1, MadTheSwine.
Be thinking about your answer, but don’t post until I prompt you.
Aww, missed the sign-up. Oh well, I can sit here and laugh at dumb answers.
One of the questions had better start, “Dumb Donald was so dumb,…” so we can all shout “HOW DUMB WAS HE?!”
I miss Gene Rayburn :(.
By all means, Skammer, stick around. I’ll open the floor after the first game is over (again, assuming this works at all) for anyone who wants to rotate off.
Years and years ago - maybe I was in high school? - I saw Gene Rayburn in a production of A Christmas Carol in Boston. He was pretty decent, although he really hit the humorous lines hard.
