eighteen – seven = one
nine + ten = fifteen
two x one = _____

one four two zero _____ million

zero, twenty, six, two, five, four, two, six, _____

Seventeen (9 letters- 8-5 for eighteen-seven = 3 for one, & 4+3=7.)

I could make 1, 4, or 6 fit this pattern, but the first one that popped into my head was 3. (sucessor of every other number).

Mine: try & guess how I got 1, 4, & 6 for #2

Correct.

I notice you’re using numerals. That’s not what I put.

No, neither 1, 4 or 6 were what I had in mind.

Forty-one? If not, fifty-one?

If I’m correct, the position of the ‘o’ in the word determines the place on the list. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to ignore the first ‘o’ in forty-one, hence my second guess.

And naturally, I miscount. Even if my method was right, my guesses were wrong. I’ll have to think about it for a bit before I guess again.

googol?

That certainly works. It’s the only one I can think of that does, off-hand.

I didn’t come up with this one, but I can’t remember where I saw it.

1
11
21
1211
111221
312211

What’s the next line?

13112221?

If I’m correct, each line “describes” the previous one. The first line is a single 1, so the second line says “one 1”. That is two ones, so the third line says “two 1s”, which the fourth line describes as “one 2 and one 1”, and so on.

That’s correct.
