I wonder if this means that they’ll someday make all the white Barbies look more like white people. Because if there’s one thing I expect out of a Barbie doll, it’s that their facial features, hair and body shapes be realistic.
Release is a term I would expect to be used for jailbird Barbie.
They might apply the same term I’ve heard used for people of Hispanic descent - coconut.

I know that they also make Hispanic Barbies - I remember one called Teresa. The weird thing is, 2 out of 3 Barbies bought for me and my sisters were white, and the same holds true for my niece and my daughter. My niece used to play with “My Scene” Barbies - actually Barbie and her 3 friends of varying ethnicities. Her favorite was Nolee, who was Asian but had somewhat rounded eyes, oddly enough.
First thing that popped into my head: “Oh Black Barbie, blam-a-lam”.
