My brother gave me a foam rubber pad that I can roll up and stick in the back seat of the car. I’ve been sleeping on that for several years now. It’s a fairly thick pad. Most comfortable “mattress” I’ve had for a long long time.
Well, bit the bullet and got a latex mattress; it wasn’t in stock in my size, alas, so it’ll be here next week Friday.
Funny thing is, when I tried the mattresses today, I had a few issues with feeling pressure on the side of my pelvic bone (I’m thin). But not all the time, and it didn’t even occur to me as an issue when I was trying the same mattresses with the same clothes on Sunday.
I think given that, it was probably an issue with my jeans (seam and/or rivet), but we’ll see when I sleep on the actual thing at home.
We’re saving for a high-end innerspring with memory foam direct from the factory. The factory (which I didn’t know until we were there) supplies mattresses to all the national brands out there. The one we’re getting reminded me of one of the higher-end brands because of the ticking. I was right – they ship it to the company which slaps the brand name on it.
Can’t beat the price – less than half of retail
