Maxine Waters Investigation

Whatever happened to the House panel investigating allegations of impropriety involving Maxine Waters and her husband?

A Google News search brings up what looks like a complete clusterfuffle. So far as I can tell, allegations surfaced in July that federal prosecutors had shared confidential information about the Waters and Rangel cases with Republicans on the committee. Earlier this month the case was sent to an external legal reviewer tasked with figuring out whether the case is salvageable or whether it’s sufficiently tainted that it should be dismissed. This is apparently all against a backdrop of serious partisan squabbling on the committee itself.

And yet for some reason Americans don’t hold their elected representatives in high esteem.
