May have found the worst restaurant on earth.

Three chances? If I get a bad meal (very, very rare) I’m never going back. Life’s too short.

I once ate at a “Mexican” restaurant in northern Wisconsin that had to be a contender for the title.

I ordered enchiladas. I received two tortillas, filled with fried ground beef (with no discernible spices or seasoning, including salt or pepper), covered in plain tomato sauce. My dining companion’s entree was worse.

Ah, A Wisconsin Enchilada.

Just bear in mind that to some midwesterners, Milk is a spice.

If you’re gonna eat here, you’ve got to try the “Shitty Soup.”

Do a Yelp review, it will make you feel better.

I tried to lunch at The Old Blackfriars here in Aberdeen yesterday. Big mistake. I ordered a steak cooked rare. It was delivered well done, so I sent it back. The replacement came back Medium. At which point I bailed.

Born and raised in Cheeseland, so I’m well aware. I’ve eaten all over this state and never had anything so flavorless.

On the other hand, at least I was aware enough not to order the shrimp soup. Unlike my fellow diner, who suffered mightily for two days afterward.

There is no excuse for bad Mexican cuisine. Mexican cuisine was literally invented by Neolithic Mexicans with meat, corn, vegetables, various kinds of peppers… and rocks. There are STILL places out there where they stone-grind the corn for the tortillas.

But the only good chili I ate in Michigan came out of a can. And the things they do with burritos, there… errgh.

For me, “good hummus” and “good falafel” are oxymorons. One is a way to ruin perfectly good tahini and the other tends to be dry and bland.

Wisconsin and Minnesota are known for their tacos (that’s taco but pronounced “tack-o” donchaknow?). They go good with kaysuhdilluhs and chimmychaingas.

Steak ‘n’ Shake fast food? Oh hell naw.

They may have a drive thru, but they aren’t fast food, not at all. Go inside and you’re served on real plates by a waitress and everything. If anything they’re closest to a diner.

Well, it’s certainly not this place:

The Best Food In Town Restaurant

aka El Rincon De Quisqueya
aka New Roseau Restaurant
aka Caribbean D Restaurant
aka Three Horse Restaurant

(no, I’ve never ventured in, and no, they’re not on Yelp)

No bad hummus=plus buying expensive shelf stable tortillas instead of cheaper fresh pita bread AND someone locally saying oh god that place? Yea I stopped there on the way to Chagaramas and those were the worst gyros I have ever purchased makes it the worst place ever.

They said the gyro meat tasted like tiny cubes of beef, instead of you know lamb sliced off the compressed meat spit.

For excellent gyros carved straight off the compressed lamb spit try one of the ten vendors on Ariapita street St. James they are all at least good, in your eye sight.

Or Lawrence Of Arabian (Maraval, Trinidad and Tobago) - Contact Phone, Address whose falafel and hummus are at least passable, or http://www.premiermallstt.com/premier_mall_long.htm Arabian something is the name, they are to the back of the foodcourt and to the left, at least passable falafel and hummus.
