Maybe you shouldn't stop to have a conversation in the stupid doorway, idiot.

I’ve been thinking that polite people are becoming a minority. I must be really old-fashioned for my age or something (I’m 30) because I’m eternally embarrassed if I’m inadvertantly blocking someone’s way, in a grocery aisle, a parking lot, or a corridor. When I notice that someone is trying to get through, I’ll usually blush in embarrassment at not noticing them sooner, apologize (usually several times) and move out of the way as quickly as possible.

I don’t know what makes the human cholesterol tick…really I don’t.

jayjay, I feel the same way as you, which is why I get annoyed at people who are so inconsiderate. I always make it a point to either move my cart to the side in a store if I’m getting something, or stand out of the way when speaking with someone. It’s just common courtesy, but sadly, that seems to be something that we see less and less of, no matter where we go.

I will say “pardon me” once. Then I’ll give a booming “Coming Through” and push my way past them.

I found this to be a problem at malls (only one of the reasons I hate malls) … people will meander along and just stop dead center to fish something out of their purse, or adjust their bags. Is it really so difficult to move to the side before stopping?

Mauvaise, if I had the lung power to boom ANYTHING, it wouldn’t be a mild “coming through.” More of a “get the %#*$ out of my way” perhaps…

Oh, and malls are like giant black holes of courtesy. They honestly scare me. My father says they are “shrines to materialism,” and I have to agree with him. Take everything greedy and spoiled about human nature and put it together and what do you get? Malls…

The best thing about malls of course, is the large groups of hyped-up sixth grade males trying to pull “Jackass” stunts in the aisles. -shudders-

Grocery stores are pretty cool, most of the time. I have a friend who once faked a seizure in Aisle 9 of a hicktown Publix, just to see what they’d do…but all we did was stumble away laughing and get some funny looks. Guess I’m not much better when it comes to courtesy acts…

Go ahead, Sublight. Kick their freaking ass clear across the platform.
Then maybe they’ll think twice about getting my way at the mall!

What irritated me about hallways and lockers, were the couples who would sit down, forcing you to step over them to get to your locker.
Then you have to wait for them to move, because you are the rude one when you need something from your locker, when it is “snookiee’s time” or some shit! They are boyfriend and girlfriend! They are going to the prom! How dare you need to get your homework! you are such an evil bastard for bothering them!

Whoever said your glory days are in high school has made amoeba look intelligent by comparison ,
