Mayor Of NYC

That seems to be the consensus view, and makes the most sense. The “choke hold” wasn’t in effect long enough.

I’m a little busy this time of year. Maybe in a few months.

I think esp. if your asthmatic, the “choke hold” was enough on its own (if it weren’t, I presume the M.E. wouldn’t feel comfortable concluding that was the cause of death). What I find odd is that there wasn’t an equal focus on the other.

Unless they’re having an asthma attack brought on by a chokehold, while being beaten or jumped on by five people. Trust me, if you lose even 20% of your lung function, you fucking notice. If you throw in the stress of five cops jumping on you and yelling, yeah, you probably are losing lung capacity. Especially when you throw in positional asphyxia.

By the way, people, it’s BREATHE. With an E. You take a breath. One. The thing you do all the time without thinking, is breathe. WITH AN E.

(Even though I’m a member of the grammar police, I have never used a choke hold.)

My intended was an M.E., and we had a running breathplay joke about how you don’t ever cut off an asthmatic’s air supply.

Breathplay? Then I suppose your safeword wasn’t “I can’t breathe,” since that was the point of the exercise. Not the sole point, of course.

Ball gags–or hostage situations-- never appealed to me, since I’d be dead in ten minutes.

I think that the current mayor of NYC is a complete dick but the voters chose him.

How far away from the incident were you when you witnessed Garner’s arrest?

Did you talk to the Grand Jury?

It’s not like we had a lot of choices. Like the past umpteen presidential elections, we held our noses and voted the least objectionable choice. Doesn’t matter which party one is casting the vote for; more than likely one is voting against the other party’s candidate rather than for their party’s candidate.

He is, so far, better than third term Bloomberg and Giuliani after ~96/97, but not as good as 94-96 Rudy nor term 1 and most of term 2 Bloomberg.

But was he?
I thought i heard that the rest of us taxpayers were raising them, via welfare.

That’s a pretty typical example of racist and class-based bigotry that poor people, particularly poor black people, face. If you have reason to believe he was an absent father, then give those reasons. Accepting public assistance is not indication of some kind of moral flaw or parental deficiency.

I thought I heard that you make your rent money by blowing goats as a warmup for a Tijuana donkey act.

I heard that too!

Well, I imagine he was absent during the time he spent in jail for his previous arrests, and before he was released on bail for his latest unfortunate endeavors.

Many of those arrested for grand larceny, assault, false impersonation, marijuana possession, driving without a license, and resisting arrest, are not ideal candidates for Father of the Year.

Being arrested 34 times generally is, however.

Fox News reports “people are saying” t-bonham makes rent money by blowing goats as a warmup for a Tijuana donkey act.

How do you guys know so much about goat blowing? Do you belong to the same goat blowers guild? Do you have a news letter? Christmas party? :smack:

What did Garner do for a living? When he wasn’t being arrested for violating various laws or doing time for his convictions, that is? Can you support six kids by illegally selling untaxed cigarettes, one at a time?

LeBron James bought a $20 t-shirt to show his support for the Garner family. I’m guessing that the family would have been more appreciative of a $20,000 donation from LeBron. Since he’s so concerned.

Why is the liberal MSM ignoring the true story about t-Bonham?

Because it’s a fluff(er) piece.

I can’t find any indication that he had a job. As mentioned, being in and out of jail interferes with your career in anything legal. His wife said one of the problems he had in actually holding a job was that he was “very lazy”.

I have no idea what he was earning selling loosies, but I suspect it wasn’t a lot.

Of course his wife also said his death wasn’t racial, and that Garner didn’t resist arrest, so her testimony might not be worth a lot.

I doubt that the looters and rioters care who Eric Garner was. They just want the police to stop arresting criminals for acting like criminals.

Oh, and I still think that the current mayor of NYC is a complete dick.
