PARIS (Reuters) - A deranged homophobe has stabbed Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe at an all-night party at City Hall, inflicting a small abdominal wound that was not life-threatening, officials and police say.
But Delanoe, a Socialist homosexual elected last year,
insisted to aides while lying bleeding on the parquet floor that the French capital’s festival continue until dawn on Sunday, they said.

Damn. Looks like he just missed becoming the French Harvey Milk. Une chance he’s going to be OK.

To be fair…the attacker said that the stabbing was “out of animosity towards politicians and homosexuals.” Maybe it is easier to understand the politician part?

Seriously though, Mayor Delanoe sounds like a class act and I am glad that he is going to be okay. I am also glad they got the guy who did it…he sounds like a nut.
