chaoticdonkey the McDonald’s in the Charleston, SC area (not sure about the rest of the State) haven’t had Medium fries for quite a while, at least a year or two. I have no idea why this is, it just seems like some arbitrary decision to annoy their customers. I’ve resigned myself to ordering Large fries (on the rare occasion that I eat there). Small is too small, large is more than I want.
i’ma call corporate and rat them out… after i check the core menu requirements wednesday…

Are medium fries served in a rigid paper/thin-cardboard container with a slightly concave bottom, like the large fries are?
I remember in the early 1970s McDonalds introduced the “Large Order of Fries”. Before that, there was only one size of French fries. I am guessing that what was introduced as “Large” fries in the 1970s is what is called medium fries today.

Lately I’ve started ordering a ‘naked hamburger’ at any fast food burger joint.
I’ve found that if you say the word ‘naked’ you get the full attention of your order-taker (and sometimes the customers around you). I then elaborate in clear concise words: “Hamburger. Bun. That’s it.” This exchange has never failed to get the exact item that I want.
Give me Wendy’s square patties and Biggie fries any day.
