I haven’t been to McDonalds in a while, but I had a newspaper coupon for a free Frozen Strawberry Lemonade. As I waited to order, I noticed they now have peach pies. I know there’s a fanbase for the apple pie, particularly fried. So I want to know if anyone else has tried them and what they thought?
Is that in Europe? Never had a Peach Pie at McDonald’s here in the U.S? Maybe they are testmarketing it in the Southern US? 'Round here they are pimping healthy maple andd fruit oatmeal and “lean” Canadian bacon and eggs on a breakfast value menu.
Former McDonald’s corporate employee here. Peach pies are definitely very new, I hadn’t heard of them as of six months ago. Mostly likely just a test item in your area. Then again, all the pies other than apple are seasonal only. They don’t always do tests on new pies.
I haven’t seen Peach yet. Plus pies are baked now, not fried. They could be a test markety item. At my McDonald’s we’re still selling Apple & Cherry.
Peach colored shite. How do you eff up a peach pie?
Apple - the bomb
cherry - a close second
taro, holiday, blueberry and peach have no business at McDs.
I tried it, and yuck yuck yuck. The apple pie is exquisite because not only does it have a nice apple-y cinnamon taste, there are little chunks of apple in it for a good texture. The peach pie, on the other hand, is filled with slop. It’s kind of like someone stuffed some peach jam in there… except the peach taste is really artificial. It tastes exactly like the type of powdered peach drink you’d find at the grocery store.
DO NOT EAT IT!
I liked the peach pie, but the next time I went back they said they only have apple and cherry pies. I don’t know if the drive through worker was clueless or if it’s already gone.
I understand that some McDonald’s locations (as well as, of course, numerous other places) still sell fried pies. Also, I’ve heard of people asking them (when not busy) to drop the baked pies in the fryer.
At one stage in New Zealand they served apricot pies. They were actually rather nice.
Glorious fried pie master race.
While I was in Russia, they were doing a “Russian Week(s)” promotion that included mushroom pies. I was half horrified, half fascinated, but I never tried one–when I went to McD’s (weekly) it was for a taste of home, not Russian cuisine a la McD’s.
I’ve also heard some of the McDonald Express locations still fry the pies, as well as some McDonalds in Walmarts, but I haven’t been able to come up with any verified sources
<Dr. Demento>I wanna fried pie, I wanna fried pie, I wanna fried pie, I wanna fried pie…</Dr. Demento>
The McDonalds Fried Apple Pie Locator. However, it was last updated in June 2008.
Reporting in from Orange County (Southern) California. Peach pies for sale. Haven’t tried 'em.
If it ain’t fresh peach, I don’t want it. Peaches do not deserve to be cooked.
I love the pumpkin pies McDonalds sells in the fall
I always find it funny when people talk about McD’s in Walmart, because all the Walmarts around here have Subway. lol regional differences.
How was the frozen strawberry lemonade?
like a slurpee. actually i think slurpees are better. very meh.
I will never forgive them for getting rid of the cherry pies, that was my favorite along with the banana shakes which they never have anymore.
