I have a friend who is from rural Nova Scotia and she told me that they have a slightly different meaning for when someone flip you the middle finger. She basically said it did not have the same “fu*k you” meaning. She did not want to tell me cause it was a little embarassing for her, so can someone please help me?

Hmmm, weird, I’m from rural Nova Scotia, but I’ve always heard the ‘traditional’ meaning.
'Course, saying you’re from rural NS is basically saying you live anywhere in the province except the Halifax Regional Municipality. Maybe it’s a regional thing specific to where she lives? Every area has different slang.
I got her to tell me that she is from a small town named Westville in Northeast Nova Scotia-right across from PEI.
I hope this helps…
