I havent faced too many dragons in the field. Where did you strip your armor from? With my Hunchback people focus on the shoulder where most of my weapons sit. Knowing that I stripped some armor from my legs. They will sometimes be orange by the end of a fight from random shots and splash damage, but I have never been legged.
I stripped from all over. I think stripping the armor from the back was a particular mistake. A couple of back shots and I was down.
For sure stripping of the back is a bad idea. A lot of the mechs have barely any armor back there. I found with as little armor as my hunchback has back there I am better off backing out of a fight slowly then ever exposing my back.
This thread and game never got a ton of traction on SDMB. For those of you that still play it they just released a special edition Jenner for charity, benefiting Children’s Cancer Research, in memory of a young MechWarrior that just passed.
It’s for a good cause and you get a decent little mech for it.
