I don’t think marijuana is a topical anesthetic, nor is it absorbed thru the skin. Placebo and rubbing help sometimes, but I suspect you are wasting money on the marijuana.

Sorry, I got my threads mixed up; I thought this was recreational.
Even recreational use is not nearly a felony in California. Not without other aggravating factors. I’d be surprised if it was a felony anywhere that has any degree of medical or decriminalized use.
Recreational possession is a felony in Arizona, even though medical mj is legal. According to this chart, it looks like it’s the only state where it’s a felony- all other states where it’s illegal, it only says illegal, not ‘felony’ like AZ does.
Credit due to my wife: when she was pregnant, a guy sitting next to her asked if she minded if he smoked. She said “I dunno, do you mind if I throw up on you?” He left.
Isn’t it a federal felony? Granted, the feds have mostly backed off from state-approved “medical” use, but there are still occasional busts.
Simple possession is very different from possession with intent to sell, or growing it illegally, etc. Most states do not consider simple possession a felony, except Arizona, but the other offenses may indeed be felonies in those states.
