It was a flippant remark, pervert, I conceed that. No harm intended. I don’t think the cost of something is that kind of average, no. I guess I’m kind of wondering why you’d think so.
Wow. Did this thread get derailed or what?
Amen! Let’s get this debate back on track.
Yeah…It so far gone that even its hijacks have hijacks!
No harm done at all. I was more asking if you could help me understand anythin the olanv is posting. It was more a cry for help than any sort of accusation. I understood your flippancy. And for the record, It was quite funny.
Also for the record, I’m willing to drop this thing as well. Let us return to the regularly scheduled debate.
I hope you don’t mind, I only skimmed through the other four pages of this rather extended thread but, is it me, or did Bush look a little panicked? His whole demeanor during the interview reminded me of someone having a Wyle E. Coyote moment — you know, where he realizes in the midst of his desperate/fanatical haste to catch the road runner that he’s left the road and that there is now an unpleasantly spectacular view of desert river bed showing directly below his feet?
In fact, Republicans at large strike this poster as genuinely shaken lately. Believe you me, I’m not complaining. It’s just that there’s been this almost palpable air of panic which seems to have remained peculiarly uncommented upon.
A lot of people have complained about Russert’s lack of follow-up and about a lot of the incoherent presidential hemming and hawing that is said to have been cut out of the interview. This is just a guess, but I think the reason for this is that Russert really didn’t want to strip the emperor bare when he has almost a year to go on his presidency. One could make the argument that no purpose is served by wigging out the general population by letting them see what an irresponsible dim bulb we’ve got for president just yet. It could be that Russert’s lack of prosecutorial zeal may have been his way of trying to act responsibly.
You’re not the only one to notice the demeanor, braintree. See the link in my post above.
I got a chuckle reading the transcript where Russert mentions they are going to a break and Bush thanks him.
