No, she’s the calculating kind. She reinvented herself once on Fox, and another time unsuccessfully on NBC.
Fox News thought she would have cross-over appeal into the valued 18-55 demographic, which advertisers like. NBC thought she could pull in a few more conservatives while maintaining the broad base required on a main channel. (While Fox News does well by some cable metrics, it’s still a niche audience. For example among morning shows NBC, ABC and CBS have an average audience of 11.542 million and falling. As a contrast, Fox News’ top show (Hannity) only pulls in 3,026,000. The interesting part is that they didn’t have Kelly drop to become a co-host or even a correspondent. They felt that putting her on the air lost them more viewers than they gained, in any capacity. That sounds worse than it is: I trust her brand has substantial value in certain environments. Far less than $30 million/yr at present, but still.

Well it is. An active decision I mean. I clearly remember my decision day where I was asked if I wanted to be gay, straight, or bi and I remember the classes leading up to it I made my choice and they rubberstamped my hand and then I had to live with it same as anybody else. Since I grew a beard pretty early I got to take my decision day test when I was only 11.
