I generally like Dean Richards, but I don’t think it was appropriate to bring up the “incident” in the context of a PR junket for a new movie. With these kinds of things, you just let the guy plug his flick and save the controversy for a more in-depth interview situation.
Having said that, Gibson ought to be savvy enough by now to have handled it much better than he did. He went from zero to pissy in 2 seconds flat, then was stupid enough to prematurely assume he was off-camera! And he’s been in this business how long?

I can’t see this vid, but I may have watched it already on snopes…was it the guy who was all, “Do you think people are going to remember what happened four years ago” and Mel’s all, “??” and the guy responds, “The things that were attributed to you” or whatever? Both of them came off pretty badly in that one. If that’s not it, disregard…
I am suprised how much Mel and his father are liked on ultra conservative radio, I have been trolling right wing stuff for a while now. Google The Political Cesspool and download the show with Hutton Gibson, a real eye opener.
Instead of Abe Vigoda (a Jew, incidentally- I’m not sure which war he helped start but I think it was Korea) and Betty White (not a Jew, but she is white) they should have had Mel Gibson in a Super Bowl ad. Or put him on the sofa with Leno, Oprah, and Letterman. “Pass the chips. Congrats on getting a late night slot again. [blip] Asshole.”
