How much do you take and how long before you go to bed?
3 X 3mcg tablets. Usually 45 minutes before I’m sleepy enough to go to bed.
What is mcg?
The tablets I bought are defined as one milligram.
Microgram. It’s either 1/100 of a miligram or 1/1000 of a miligram. Or maybe even smaller.
a mcg is 1/1000 of a miligram
oh dear god, I knew that by knee jerk reaction…maybe those 3 weeks of drug calcs actually did some good.
I tried melatonin a couple times. The most memorable was the time I took some, and after two hours of not being tired, went out and ran six miles. I decided then that it didn’t work for me.
You need the right dose. Each manf makes its own dose. So you need to look at the bottle & see what the strength is.
I think that mine are 300mg & I need two, so 600mg. More than two & the head spins.
Dosages ranging from nine micrograms to 600 milligrams. Theat’s quite a bit of difference.
Aren’t there instructions on the package? Go by those. Better yet, if you’re taking it at a doctor’s suggestion, go by his advice. Without knowing the dosage and the other ingreadients, any advice we give you is at best useless and at worst dangerous.
Indeed, it has a warning label:
“Melatonin may produce drowsiness.”
