Not that old, only 66. We lost Donna Douglas (Elly May Clampett) in January, Yvonne Craig (Batgirl) last week, and now Wrangler Jane. F Troop was a sort of Sgt. Bilko style look at the old west that I loved as a kid as did so many others. Two of the roles were Ken Berry betrothed to Melody in a role reversal. Berry played the hapless Captain Parmenter while Wrangler Jane could outride, outshoot, and outdo him in all the manly arts while still setting men’s hearts athrob on her looks alone. Melody got this role at the age of 16 and had to prove to the producers that she actually could ride a horse like a cowgirl.
