The truth is that neither salt nor sugar melts in the rain. Their melting points are 801 and 186 degrees Celsius, respectively. They will dissolve, however.
True dat. But a sugar *cube *would *appear *to *melt *if left out in the rain.
Sugar - funnily enough it’s used in Finland as well. Haven’t heard it lately but I’m pretty sure my grandfather used to say it.
Hello, I have come by with a tiny, slight hijack. There is a lovely installation now at the San Jose Museum of Art: raw sugar masks molded from a sugar beet worker’s face. Several of these masks are resting on little platforms along a wall of a gallery. These faces are melting, with puddles of “molasses” underneath. They symbolize the insignificance of the sugar beet workers. Etc.
I enjoyed it and thought it was interesting. That is all. Now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
