There is something I call like to call “flash bulb” memories. Memories of things so (vivid, intense, horrifying, etc - insert word of choice here) that you will forever remember where you were, what you were wearing…
I call them flash bulb because your memory is caputured instantly, like a photograph.
Monumental flash bulb memories include 9-11, the day Kennedy was shot, when man landed on the moon, the day the Berlin wall came down.
Those aren’t the ones I am interested in hearing about.
I would like to hear about the smaller flash bulbs in your life: the flashbulbs that affected you personally.
Maybe it is something inconsequential such as the day your grandmother made you cookies and she piped your name on one in blue icing.
Maybe it is the day your son was born. Or the day your daughter smiled for the first time.
Maybe it is the day you went to your first concert (Don’t be ashamed to admit it was Cheap Trick) and Robyn Zander waved at you and your date went all googy eyed. Maybe it was you who went all googy eyed.
Maybe it was the day your best friend died.
Maybe it was the day you actually really truly played a song on the guitar
Maybe it was the day when you finally understood how math ‘worked’.
Do tell.
