He is an Emirati actor, so those are indeed professional shots of him. As far as I can tell, he seems to be letting this whole fracas work as publicity in his favor.
(and yeah, why wouldn’t he - he’s definitely handsome! But it seems a little more like a Zoolander response than any righteous indignation.)
I don’t think too much about the whole thing - transference much? I think he is the cutest little actor around, seriously yummy but I wouldn’t just randomly jump his bones. You could leave me in a room alone with him and he would be perfectly safe. [hell, he stands a fair chance of being gay for what it is worth, he just really pings my gaydar]
To be perfectly blunt, I can say that I have never really heard about a guy being raped by some married woman in the same manner that a woman is in danger of being raped. [you know, forced down, legs spread and violently raped.] I am not saying that it couldn’t happen, but to be blunt, I would be more afraid for myself in the middle east than I would about some random pretty boy [unless it was male on male rape]
Read that back in school and thought it was interesting. A good look at notions of what social equality can mean, in a literal sense. I think people on SDMB would be interested.

I gotta admit, I think they have a point.
Good looks are based primarily on health and youth. I’m a straight dude but I can tell which guys I would consider good-looking. Certainly, it is an eye-of-the-beholder type deal. I find most people to be genuinely attractive in their own way.
Three Emirati delegates to a cultural festival in Saudi Arabia were seized and deported after the Saudi Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice deemed them “too handsome” for fear of them inspiring lustful feelings in women, says the Telegraph. Still, this must surely be the oddest reason for someone to be deported from any country I’ve ever heard.
For real, there is no way I wouldn’t forsake my heterosexuality for this man. Look at him! Sweet Jesus, I feel like when he walks into a room it must be the polar opposite of the scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark where they open the Ark of the Covenant; no one’s face melts and everyone feels like they have been touched by the hand of God. – my favorite comment on the internet in regards to this story.
In between the eyeliner and how well groomed he is, I’m guessing gay. Those lucky gay bastards. Him and Enrique Iglesias should have a handsome competition.
