I’ve seen soldiers in a few countries now, and I must say that the worst uniforms belong to the Italians. They have poofy things on their hats! Not so sexy.
On the other hand, one of the things I miss about Israel are the soldiers. I’m not sure Isaeli soldiers even have dress uniforms; I sure as hell never saw any. Instead, just lots of guys (and girls) wandering around the streets in khaki. Very nice. They look like they’re ready to go into combat at any moment (the guns or rifles or whatever aren’t just a fashion accessory, but they’re always unloaded in public areas), which, while I wouldn’t want to see fighting, adds to the allure. The only bummer is that they’re usually too young. Men serve in the army from ages 18-20 or so. Fortunately, there’s always the reserves…
