Guess I wasn’t looking at the necklace when I saw that movie. It is nice, though. I like when a movie has little props that aren’t strictly necessary for the plot, but add details to the world created by the story.
The Youtube video won’t give a good enough screenshot to work from. My advice is that you rent the DVD and pause at the right moment to get a good look.
Also you could use software such as PowerDVD to create a screenshot from the DVD on your computer.
Could you pause the video at the right part and hit Print Screen to take a screenshot? You could crop it in Photoshop, since there would be a lot of extraneous bits around what you want to see.
I can’t remember if something pops up on the video player screen when you hit pause on YouTube. If it doesn’t, then Prt Scr follies ahoy.
Miss Purl, that’s a good idea and I’ll try it. Thanks!!
Also, Gigo, that’s a good image too. I really want to make this necklace and you all are being really wonderful to help me!
awldune, I don’t have a DVD player or a TV that’s compatible with one, but I have friends who do, so perhaps they’d indulge me.
I just got my Fire Mountain Gems and Beads catalogue supplement last week and am expecting the big catalogue soon. I know they have lots of great and nicely priced components in there that would make a great mermaid necklace.
As for the big ole gold coin as the focal point, I have some neat old large foreign coins that my great aunts brought back from their youthful travels abroad in the 1930s. I’m hoping maybe I can get my dad to drill some holes in one of the coins so I can attach it as shown in the pic. If I can actually make this, I’ll post a pic of the finished piece!
